Editors Cynthia Manick, Len Lawson, and Gary Jackson read from and discuss The Future of Black: Afrofuturism, Black Comics, and Superhero Poetry, a groundbreaking collection highlighting work from poets who have written verse within the growing tradition of Afrofuturism. The collection also features the work of artists such as John Jennings and Najee Dorsey, showcasing their interpretations of superheroes, Black comic characters, Afrofuturistic images from the African diaspora. Join us for a reading and a discussion of the themes and inspiration that frame this essential collection.
Registration and Attendance
We will offer seating for up to 26 in-person guests, with priority access given on a first-come-first-serve basis. If you choose to pre-order a copy through Rofhiwa, you will have the option to reserve a seat. Please use your order comments to indicate whether you would like 1-2 seats reserved for you.
